We take a critical look at the week's top stories from business, politics and society. Participants focus on prepared and spontaneous speaking, and building alternative vocabulary on a wide range of topics. Some preparation at home is required. Before joining this course, please make sure your level is an advanced B2 to stable C1.
So far, you are getting along very well in English. However, reaching a stable C1 or even C2 level requires more precision and an understanding of how grammar shapes meaning. This course aims to strengthen your use of grammar in written and spoken interaction. Focus and repetition will enable you to proceed from your current plateau. You will learn how to broaden your language by varying lexical and grammatical structures available to you. This course is for C1 learners who are not fully confident in grammar when they speak or write in English as well as learners who need or want to become more precise.
Bring a sandwich and join our online lunchtime English conversation group. We will focus on authentic language and use activities to practice spontaneous conversations and improve your listening comprehension. This will help you to refine and broaden your vocabulary.
