Speak Better English B2: From Humboldt to Hollywood
This course helps you speak it with more confidence, fluency and style – by borrowing from writers who knew exactly how to move an audience.
In a small, sociable group we read, discuss, debate and play with language. Not a lecture – a conversation, full of practical phrases and the kind of English that works as well at a dinner party as in the boardroom.
The idea behind the course: a German intellectual movement has shaped the English-speaking world. The Humboldt brothers, Goethe and the German Romantics inspired poets such as Wordsworth and Byron in England, and later Emerson, Thoreau and the conservationist John Muir in America, and ultimately even Walt Disney.
Participants explore this journey in a small, friendly group, through stories, conversations and debates, with lots of fun activities between the learners. As a result, you naturally gain greater confidence and enjoyment in speaking English, both in everyday life and at work.
