This course is designed to provide you with a good blend of vocabulary input and conversation practice. We will use a wide range of interesting topics and activities to help you improve your English. You will be encouraged to interact with language by working with texts, audio and video, and we will analyze English constructions and use them in speaking activities. Besides that, the vocabulary will be revisited regularly in order to consolidate classroom learning. For intermediate students who would like to learn more about English-speaking cultures. We will read a handful of English, Irish, American and Commonwealth poems and stories -- some simplified, some not -- and use them as a basis for language games, vocabulary-building exercises and discussions. The two courses can be booked independently of each other.

In this class, we will discuss the concept of sister cities, or city ‘twinning.’ We will ‘virtually visit’ some of Munich’s sister cities, learn about their history and culture, and participate in small group discussions on related themes, including the theme of international cooperation and intercultural exchange.

Do you feel the English you hear from your coursebook is not what you are confronted with in real life? Or sometimes you feel that others speak too fast? This course will use recordings of English as it is really spoken – by native as well as non-native speakers. You will get used to different accents and be able to adapt faster to speakers from around the world.
